  This is why it's important for a medical professional to take detailed notes with dates and bring it with you to refer to right on the witness stand.  I would definitely not attempt to be a medical witness without my notes in front of me like others have not done.  It makes you sound like you were informed, you can back up what you did/what you tried with specific notes and dates, and you're not having to answer you don't recall.

  I have a family member who has been in active psychosis and absolutely set on the belief that myself and others were out to get them and make them appear 'crazy'   I reached out for help to MULTIPLE entities in our community. THREE doctors - one being a psychiatrist and a crisis worker all saw him and asked him if he was hallucinating and he said no and they left it at that. He was trying very hard to act totally normal as to not be trapped by us into being labeled crazy. He also did not believe for one second he was hallucinating. He was certain the voices were real and everyone out to get him could hear them too but were lying about it. I literally have videos of this family member not an hour after these evaluations talking to people and arguing with them except they aren't real people.  I HAVE SEEN IT. So asking them and then seeing how they look for 10 minutes does nothing

  I feel like when she told her that she had a fear of having suicidal thoughts on the meds, she may have already been having them but too scared to actually admit that.

  The doctors did what they could in this broken system. I'm glad the public gets to see how fractured and CEO-driven our mental healthcare system is.

  Little known fact...going off some meds suddenly can cause suicidal thoughts. Some meds need tapered off. Also some meds can cause suicidal thoughts,especially when you first go on them. Serious drugs that can help people but again family support and constant watching coukd save lives

  This tragic case always stayed in my mind. From what I understand, Lindsay Clancy was started on a drug not indicated for bi-polar disorder. Then she developed post partum psychosis. Scary. From what I remember, she strangled all three children ( so terribly sad) and then tried to jump out a window. She was alone with her children because her husband had run a short errand to pick up her medication. And during that short window of time she killed her kids.

  The lack of coordination between the different providers is Alarming. Why not Call the doctors at South Shore & McClean & Mass General & actually Talk to one another.  Everyone is just trusting Lindsay Clancy to tell them what the other doctors are doing.  Where is the care coordination??

  She didn’t ask for the medical records of where she went and didn’t feel the need to let them know that she prescribed her another med because she knew she was good at communicating??

  I’m going to say this as a daughter of Schizophrenic mother who refuses meds! These people need constant supervision and at any moment things can change drastically!! As l have said before The Mental Health System in the US is drastically flawed!!!
