So much of this is true. We fear or eject or separate ourselves from other persons thinking they are bad or to different. We never give them time or space to show what they really are.

That simple gesture—saving her a seat—might be more powerful than any heroic speech. She expected fear, but the human treated her like she belonged there. I’m curious what happened next when the alien girl realized this human wasn’t afraid of her at all.
