  To buy a Niva, you have to grow up. You have to buy fishing rods and a boat engine first. You have to have your own garage. You have to have a couple of secret fishing spots. And that&apos;s where you&apos;ll need the Niva to get there.

  My Lada Niva was always broken but never broken down. It always got me back home.

  The lada 2121 as it was known on Colombia, first wave arrived in early 80&apos;s in exchange for coffee and bananas with the Soviet Union...<br>But quickly became a commercially wanted great car. <br>I loved that the spare tire was on top of the engine, because flat tires were very common on our dirt roads, back in the 80&apos;s &nbsp;and in other cars you either had to unload everything in the cargo area to reach the spare tire, or go under the chassis on muddy roads to crank-lower the spare, stacked under the car&apos;s floor... That&apos;s why many Off road vehicles had the spare tire installed outside the cabin as aftermarket mod, having often not just one but two spares.<br>Still love that little car that could...   Lada was the first brand imported to Brazil when the ban on imported cars was lifted. Niva was a huge success over there

  The magic of Niva is that is can get to to a places where supposedly off road cars would not even dare to go despite costing 15 times more. One of the few Soviet civilian designs that not just works, but excels in it&apos;s niche!

  I absolutely love my 2009 niva, it looks like a old car, it drives like a old car, mine still has a lot of the chrome trims that were removed with the Niva M in 2010, it is such a simple car that there is simply nothing that can break, and the things that do end up breaking can be repaired very easily on the side of the road. If you drive a lada in east germany basically everyone is your friend just because of the car you drive, everyone can connect with it in some way

  I worked for a dealership in the UK. I used mine in offroad driving competitions. It was almost standard, just a very small suspension lift and more aggressive tires. It would go anyware a Land rover Defender would. Even using it hard offroad, nothing ever broke.
