  Hello Sebastian, you and your girlfriend will never regret it. I’ve done three Subaru conversions myself—two Subaru SVX 3.3-liter engines and one 2.5. It’s the best upgrade you can do for your Volkswagen Vanagon.<br><br>I personally prefer the 3.3-liter, but the only thing is that you’ll need to upgrade the 3rd and 4th gears in the transmission.<br><br>I also noticed that you guys used Valvoline antifreeze. If you check the Subaru manual, it highly recommends using only Subaru antifreeze, and it’s also a good idea to add the conditioner made by Subaru.<br><br>JC

  With the bigger sportier motor, fitting a tachometer would have been good as well

  I&apos;ve watched 3 minutes, and I love this video already. Keep it up! And yes, we know EJ25 Vanagons are the bomb. We all proved it again this past week. Chris and I just made it back and both of ours performed flawlessly on the way home. And the trips home are always harder on these vans.

  I think I&apos;ve figured out the secret to this engine swap: 10% mechanical skill, 90% questioning your life choices, and 100% praying that the van doesn&apos;t turn into a lawn ornament! Great work turning that 1984 time machine into a modern road-tripper.

  I noticed its from montana I probably worked in that at some point i worked for a few euro shops over the years in western Montana and have done tons of rebuilds and engine swaps it&apos;s a whole different animal after you get more power
