  I went there last summer. I was told that the gold you find in the buckets of pay dirt you can buy, are placed there by the owners. During the cold parts of the year they apparently go to Africa to dig fot it, then come back home and sprinkle it in the &quot;learn how to pan&quot;-buckets. <br>We gave up on the river (had the same gear as you) and turned to the man made channel where beginners pan those said buckets. Much easier to find the gold they lost then to dig the river bank.

  Welcome to Sweden! My home country, and i&apos;ve been to Ädelfors two times. I actually found a picker at the river bank, but that was the only gold i found right there. For a couple of thousands years ago the river was much larger, and carried gold from northern parts of Sweden down to Ädelfors, and as you can see where the &quot;training&quot; area is, it&apos;s like a gravel pit reaching maybe 15 feet below the surface, and there&apos;s where the gold is. I got a really good pan at that gravel pit, and made about 1 gram of gold during 5 hours of panning (a lot walking back and forth included). So there is gold, but i believe it&apos;s hard to find any significant amount in the current river. If you want to i could send you a picture of the good pan i got there.

  Oh, Sweden is my home country. If you are planning to go to Norway you should try your luck in Gisna river. Way better than Ädelfors.

And even though it&apos;s been almost 15 years since we were there with the kids. We found quite a bit of gold there in a few hours.   You should go to norway up North in a pleace called helligskogen. I never been there but its a massive fortest where people find a god amount of gold

  hey shane klesh. i am right now sitting in the petri dank watching your video after reading your guestbook entry. its the quote of the day when you say if you find gold it&apos;s good, if not it’s good too. who doesn&apos;t want to be in this beautiful place. personaly i’m coming here for over 30 years now and i still love the place and the amazing nature. glad you enjoyed your trip to sweden. wish you all the best. thumb is up.

  There used to be a geocache inside that mine. There are also a couple of videos from inside on yt. So, people do enter it, but you do it on your own risk. There is a legend of a crazy Dane who wanted to find more gold. He went at it cutting grooves in the roof with a angle grinder. As far as I know. He did not find very much and no one really knows the idea behind cutting long gashes in the roof.
