This is definitely the type of video that would never pop up on your feed during the day, only at night when you’re already struggling to fall asleep

I think something most people don't consciously realize (I didn't), is that when you compound everything in your phone it's impossible to leave your phone alone. What's the time? Check the phone. how many degrees outside today? Check the phone. Pay bills? Use the phone. Order food at restaurant? Use the phone. So Everytime you do a seemingly innocent thing, you are also bombarded with notifications and distractions. realizing this was huge for me (i bought a weather station and an extra dumbphone to use as a "landline/emergency phone" at night so I can turn OFF my smartphone). While I went much further than most in the end (deleted social media), splitting out some things from your phone can be a helpful step

Funny thing is, I know all this, I still don't do it.

This is the first time in my life I’ve been recommended a video like this and I’ve actually not needed it. I’ve been reading before bed and going to the gym first thing in the morning. I’ve been journaling, eating well, caring about my environment, etc. It took years of struggling with my problems to finally start dealing with them.

Wait, is Anwen Reid’s anxiety quiz mainly about how different people respond to stress? Because that would explain why the same advice can help one person and make absolutely no difference to someone else. I might actually have to try this.

I literally had this epiphany about a week ago. No matter how much willpower I try to have in the morning, 4-5 hours of sleep just won’t cut it, my body physically will not get out of bed. I slept 8 hours (at around 10pm) for the 1st time in months the other night and BOOM, woke up at 6am virtually no alarm and almost hopped out of bed I felt so rested. Went on to have the most productive and enjoyable day. I know how important sleep is but it’s soooo easy to forget in the moment. And it really is a cycle that starts the night before! Don’t even focus on the wake up time/morning routine as much, focus on the night time routine and getting to bed on time and everything else so effortlessly falls into place
