  I'm Irish and my wife is from Belo Horizonte. I've been lucky enough to have visited a few times. Everything about BH is amazing. The people, the food. the atmosphere, the culture, the music. It's a great place! Bourdain captured the essence of the state and the city like no one else could. Man, he's such a loss to the world.

  European here, travelled to Brasil many times. had the best sushi ever in Sao Paolo Libertade. better than the one I had in Japan.

  I am American of the USA &nbsp;and I had the wonderful pleasure of ilving in &quot;Bé Haga&quot; for 10 years. &nbsp; I could have lived anywhere in Brazil and chose Belo Horizonte ... and never regretted it. &nbsp;<br><br>What Brazil specializes in : nature, music, dance , food , people. &nbsp;I consider music and dance tops in the world, thick sociological layers of talent : have you ever even heard of Yamandu Costa, &nbsp;Jorge Ben Jor, &nbsp;Maria Bethânia, &nbsp;Seu Jorge, &nbsp;Liniker, &nbsp;Marisa Monte, &nbsp;Lucy Alves, Mestrinho ?<br><br>Rio is an incredible place to visit , but to live ? <br>São Paulo ... unbelievable nightlife, arts , music , restaurants , etc ... <br>and you can find a bit of most aspects of Brazil culture ( nordestino, bahia afro brazilian, etc ) in those cities, but BH serves it up in a much smaller area with the authenticity of Minas Gerais culture. &nbsp;What&apos;s Minas Gerais culture ? &nbsp;well, the national dish ( feijoada ) and national spirit ( Cachaça ) come from Minas. &nbsp;( check out the genius of a BH creation :Xeque Mate ... rum, yerba-mate, guaraná , and lime ! &nbsp;that&apos;s BH in a can right there ! <br><br>it&apos;s not the prettiest city, but for the price , the nightlife, the people, the food , the surrounding nature, culture, and the accesibility of all those qualities .... &quot; Bom Demais da Conta Sô &nbsp;! &quot; . &nbsp; <br><br>and the women of Minas Gerais are incredible in every way, &nbsp;especially beauty, marriage , family, and fun. <br><br>As usual, Anthony Bourdain - one of my life mentors - and his talented crew super captured a good deal of the essence of Belo Horizonte. &nbsp;Go and explore the rest : the essence of you and your experience there &nbsp;, and who you will become because of it.<br><br>I live in France now. I love it here too, this chapter of my life. &nbsp;But Belo ... <br><br>Saudades demais.

  The states of Minas Gerais and Bahia as well as Alagoas have at the most unique spots I&apos;ve ever seen. Absolutely stunning!
