Tony paid the ultimate price and broke the very same rules in the drug trade that Frank told him not to. 1. Never underestimate the other guys greed ( which he did with Sosa and didn’t realize Sosa was the ultimate drug lord )
2. Don’t get high on your own supply ( the drug made him restless and on edge/angry ultimately causing him to make bad decisions)

He gets called Scarface exactly one time in the movie. It’s in the chainsaw scene. The Colombian guy with the chainsaw calls him “cara cicatriz,” which is Spanish for “scar face.”

Steven Bauer is Manny, he was Don Eladio on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. And Tony’s mom here is Tuco’s grandma on Better Call Saul. Alberto is Hector Salamanca…

Fun fact - Steven Spielberg did some Second Unit Directing on the final shootout. He and the film's director, Brian DePalma, have been friends for decades. Spielberg stopped by the set to see how things were going and DePalma ended up having him direct some of the action shots.
And the movie was called "Scarface" not only because of the scar on Montana's face, but also because the movie was a remake of a 1932 film of the same name, which, in turn was loosely based on the exploits of Al Capone, whose nickname was "Scarface" due to a few scars on his face and neck he received in a knife fight in his younger days.

The answer to Cassie's question about what kind of gun was that, it was an M-16 with an M-203 grenade launcher.

I feel like the fact that there is no redemption arch, that it ends badly, that it's ultimately a depressing story is why it's an iconic movie. It doesn't go the way the viewer expects it to go. Even when Tony is killed, yeah, he's the bad guy, but he's killed by someone even worse and really he's killed because he did something good in not murdering the kids. So the main character is killed by a bad guy who gets away. And that's how the crime world works. It's not the standard for the movie world and that's why it's a great movie IMO.
