Anna Hamil doesn't "just" die in a firefight, she storms the police station xD
You can hear it on the radio

I like the idea of V stealthily capturing targets, because fixers can more efficiently dispose of them, and it's way more frightening to the other evil bastards. "They disappeared without a trace from a building full of guards and were never found" is way scarier than "Someone snuck in and shot them," because it gives their mind room to fill in things they're scared of.

My theory with the "Back Against a Wall" gig is that the meds are supposed to help with Cyber-Psychosis, which isn't what Hare has, he has your standard PTSD, which those meds won't help with. He thinks he's going Cyberpsycho, but he isn't. This goes to explain why the ripper-doc wants the meds back, because they are useful when used to treat the proper problem. It's like trying to use antibiotics for a viral infection, not going to do anything.

I'm so conflicted about the Anna Hamil gig. On one hand, can't blame a cop for actually doing her job, but on the other hand, there's the scanner hussle you also talked about where you can protect a man from the Tyger Claws, only to find out that he worked with Anna, who promised him protection in exchange for information, but she didn't deliver, either because she made a promise she couldn't keep or because she had no intention to protect him in the first place. Idk if she's actually a good cop or if she's just self-righteous.

Something you didn't pick up on: Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy is a reference to the Cold War novel "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" which is fitting because it's a Russian-themed gig.

I don't think the anti-cyberpsychosis Meds actually don't work in "Backs against the Wall", Hare has psychological issues that stem from his service and PTSD, not necessarily from his implants. If you read his terminal you can see the messages from his support group hoping they see him at the next meeting and him pushing them away.

I can't imagine letting Charlie work on V having that blackmail on him. That seems like a sure way to never get off that table.

A fun fact, if you own the Phantom Liberty dlc then you’ll be able to see on the crazy veterans computer his friend reaching out and suggesting he joins Col. Hansen’s Barghest forces. I thought it was a nice little touch to the story.

For the gig woman of la mancha you forgot to mention that there is another way to know where Anna is. Instead of speaking to the Nomad or the ripperdoc there is a woman with a tyger claw behind her. If you speak to her she asks if you're a cop and you can also pay for her to reveal that information. She has a direct line of sight to Anna. Only found out about this in my recent playthrough.

"Backs against the Wall" was the mission that really pulled me into the cyberpunk world. I was at the door, weapons ready for a boss fight, but f course I am always in for a dialog - usually they end in combat anyway. But this guy really got me, and by the end I would have paid for his medics myself. No way I would kill this guy. When I left and heard that single gun shot (it took some seconds for me to realize that is was not some ambush) I just thought "no, no nonono" - went back to find my fears were true.
Story, dialog, setting, all came together to create a true RPG experience (at least for me). Long time ago, by now, but I will always remember this one.
Thanks for bringing this memory back to me. (and for all the small things I missed so far)

One small detail some might have missed from the Blake gig is that on a separate PC in the garage, there is an email from a Scav leader about the Sandra Dorsett case; fuming about how 'two merc c*nts' flatlined his brother and messed the scav op. He further identifies Jackie Wells and us as 'a tino and a young poser'.

I love how the 2 most heinous Ripperdocs are the 2 who appear to care the most about cleanliness, Fingers constantly pumping hand sanitizer after his operation, and Charles actually wearing surgical attire and a hair cap.

One of Charles's clients is Rose Horrigan. She worked for the Captain before succumbing to cyberpsychosis. She lived with her sister who tried everything she could to care for her before Rose ended up snapping completely into cyberpsychosis and killed her sister.
