I believe a human male named Jesus existed who inspired his contemporaries to look at things differently after they were conquered by the Romans.

To add an interesting layer of historical consensus, look at Judean coinage of the time—specifically the bronze prutahs. They did not feature the names of the Roman governors, because only emperors held that right. However, the governors chose the unique designs and motifs, while the Greek inscriptions named the ruling emperors.

I agree about healing. I am not a Christian. I had an accident which paralyzed my arm. I prayed for healing and miraculous, the nerve function in my arm was restored. My Doctors were baffled and couldn't explain it. It was my strong belief that resulted in my healing.

The evidence for reconstructing a historical Jesus is something of a puzzle. I would point people to an excellent @cjcornthwaite video, “Each Historical Jesus Search Has Failed. Here’s Why They Always Will.” The Gospels seem less like straightforward biographies and more like theological narratives that use the figure of Jesus to address the concerns of different communities—particularly in the POST world shaped by Paul’s letters, the Jewish-Roman War, and the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple. The Gospels share traditions, but each also reflects different theological emphases, conflicts, and community perspectives.

That is part of what makes the historical question so difficult. People have a remarkable tendency to discover a Jesus who resembles their own theological, moral, or political commitments and then appeal to the Gospels to justify that portrait. Perhaps that tells us as much about the interpreters as it does about Jesus.

Could a man have lived a unique enough life to inspire oral stories... Then have authors, thirty or more years later, compile and compete to write compelling stories to inspire their contemporary listeners of a dramatic life of this man. Sure! Are the gospels a documentary of this life? I do Not think so!...though i once did as others. 🙏❤️☮️

I love when people look into Jesus as an unbeliever, because they always come back as a huge believer and start telling others about it.

More than 40 contemporary historians didn't notice him. There are interpolations and they are not credible.
The four popular sources Christians mention as proof are not credible. They have been shown to be interpolations or not an original source.
The four are:
Flavius Josephus
Pliny the Younger
Tacitus
Suetonius

Whether Jesus existed or not, the question I think should be, Is he even relevant? What exactly were his core teachings (Gospel of Thomas?)? Why has the church, not just the Vatican, but Christianity as a whole, deviated from what I'm assuming were HIS actual teachings, setting themselves up as an intermediary. If Jesus was actually in Union or One with GOD, then his apocalyptic teaching would be a "revealing" or "unveiling" of Union in GOD for All, not a theology or dogma.

The 4 synoptic gospels all seem written in 3rd person as…..Jesus went to the garden…..never….I Peter walked with Jesus to the garden and he explained to me……Conclusion? Not written by eye witnesses and that is a problem. I see a base character who becomes legendary over time as the stories are exaggerated and distorted. Also not once is it written that he ever laughed.

The guy never existed as described in the Bible, yeah there were Jesus back then as Johns, Marks and so on. All are metaphors. Great teachings behind the stories but that's about it, my humble opinion. Peace ✌️
