  That foam is probably what&apos;s known as A-Triple-F, or AFFF, which stands for Aqueous Film Forming Foam. &nbsp;It&apos;s a fire-fighting mixture that blends with water to create a thick foam that smothers high-intensity fires by interrupting what&apos;s known as the fire triangle (heat, fuel and oxygen). &nbsp;The foam you saw was probably residual left behind from fighting the recent fire. &nbsp;And <i><b>that&apos;s</b></i><b></b> a mouthful...

  Chemicals in the water cause foam. Since there were recent wildfires, the idea that it&apos;s fire retardant chemicals makes the most sense as opposed to illegal dumping

  It&apos;s very common to get the foam on both the Umpqua and Rogue rivers. It also happens on the Oregon coast. (My mom used to tell me it was whale spit to keep me out of the surf! 😂) &nbsp;Organic compounds in water → waterfall churns in air → tiny bubbles form → organic compounds stabilize the bubbles → FOAM - it&apos;s everywhere along both rivers near waterfalls... says this Southern Oregon native who&apos;s happy you got the chance to see it.

  Your water pump idler pulley is going bad/belt maybe and you&apos;ll need to grease/ repack your wheel bearings every 15,000 MI. Grease all those zerks underneath the truck specially the kingpins under the front wheels EVERY oil change, you probably are way behind on it if you haven&apos;t been doing it, it&apos;s going to cost you big time if you dont.

  The foam is from biological decomposition, like leaves and sticks. It would make sense a lot of burned wood would breaking down fast would cause a bunch of foam. I always saw foam on the river I grew up by because it ran through woods before it came in the city.
