  Can you, please,  do the episode on the man who not only escaped from Auschwitz but also got himsef caught on purpose .... to gather evidence about the camps and hoping to start an uprising: Witold Pilecki.  He escaped, survived the war and was tortured and  killed by  communists after the war.

  Freedland makes this brilliant podcast shine even brighter. A great story superbly told. Kudos to Tom and Dominique for such a gem of an episode.

  There were rumours, sometimes there were people warning those on trains wgen they would stop at train stations, but noone believed it. It was too shocking to believe.

  What an absolutely incredible story.  The two escapees were just awe inspiring. Totally gripping. It provides a light amongst all the darkness and indescribable horror of the holocaust.  I can't wait to read the book!

  For the whole duration of the war, there were only four, who not only escaped, but were not caught and survived the war.<br>For Walter Rosenberg/Rudolf Vrba, the great achievement was not only that he escaped and was not caught, but he survived almost two years where prisoners were gassed on the arrival, or died in a few weeks due to starvation, diseases and physical punishment for minor transgressions.

  You two guys are awesome discovered you while driving two hrs one way to see my wife after her brain surgery. Would love to share a pint or two w you if ever state side. <br>You both gave me something to think about besides &nbsp;the health implications. <br>Your series on ww1 causes was sooo detailed. My grandfather served the Kaiser. Grew up in Stuttgart. You two explained that tragedy in a way i will never forget. <br>Thank you.
