  My theory has always been that she was kidnapped for ransom, but she had unintentionally died and the kidnappers just vanished with a lost body because they no longer had a person to ransom off.

  My Dad is on the same medications Nancy was. He told me that if he did not have his meds for 2 days, he would be dead.

  The one good thing to come out of this case is that it made the public aware of just how incompetent, arrogant, narcissistic, and just plain bad the sheriff is.<br><br>Someone like that shouldn’t be in law enforcement.

  My guess is that this was a kidnapping perpetrated by someone who had no idea how much work it would be to: (1) take the victim out of her house unwillingly and, (2) keep her alive despite declining health.

  I think they tell you to humanize the victim, that’s why the “talk to her you will see” sounds familiar. They want the kidnapper to see the victim as a real person, not just a package to deal with.

  Nancy was a family friend of my parents for decades. She was at their wedding, attended the same church, and was a part of their lives until my family moved out of Arizona and they lost touch. Thank you so much for covering her story in such a respectful way. I’ve been periodically checking the news for months hoping for some update for them. I’ll be sending this to my folks and hope it will help them understand what happened to their old friend.

  My mom was OBSESSED with this case when it first happened. She put on the news every hour of every day for MONTHS for any update. It drove me insane, so im glad you&apos;re covering it in a way that will certainly be more coherent and easy to digest

  It would honestly make zero sense if Annie and Tomaso did it and sent those notes in preparation for her being declared legally dead for insurance or inheritance purposes. All they would have to do would be to smother her with a pillow, give her an extra dose of medication in her dinner, etc. Nobody would question or be looked at as suspicious for not requesting an autopsy if an 84 year old medically frail woman with a heart condition that lives alone “died in her sleep.” They would never need to go to these lengths for an insurance payout or inheritance. Honestly, the years it would take to get Nancy declared legally dead and then get paid would probably be longer than if Nancy died of natural causes and it would certainly be longer to pay day than if they made it look like she died of natural causes and they were behind it.

  Im of the side that the kidnappers didnt really know her mainly due to the meds that were left behind. She had some heavy duty meds that had to be given periodically or she&apos;d die, and those were all left behind. If it was a close family member they would have taken the meds with them to prolong her life for the ransom.
