  i use a similar system i refer to as &quot;mirela&quot; (or EDA, E = mi, D = ré, A = lá)<br>its basically CAGED without C and G shapes, but i focus on keeping the lowest note of each inversion on the 6th string<br><br>once i learned about drop 2s, i realized the C and G shapes from CAGED have the same problem of 7th close voicings being physically impossible to play, and EDA are basically the drop 2 solution, it was a big ah-ha moment for me, and also fits perfectly with the 3 notes per string system, so no more confusion with CAGED shapes and weird scale fingerings

  I think this is good info to get started (using the high strings of the chord shapes) but for me I recently starting &quot;building&quot; triads by finding the root then just learning where the 3rd (or m3rd) and where the 5th is in relation to the root in every direction possible. That way you can build a triad anywhere by knowing where the 3rds and the 5ths are if you know the fretboard well enough to know the roots.
