  As a Swedish person, no.. our bathrooms arent known to be ugly.. yours is just old. It was all the rage in the 70ies. 😅

  No Swedish bathrooms aren't ugly in general. Just in old houses that are outdated ,

  The odd little room with newspaper wall, that is called a &quot;kattvind&quot;, &quot;cat attic&quot;, and mostly used for storage. And you regularly let the house cat access to get rid of mice. This is still common.<br><br>Back in time, around 1880 - 1920, in larger houses where upper middle class or higher income lived, if a little larger than your kattvind, they could be used for a maid to live in. (If someone lived in that room during winter, it would have been better insulated.)<br>It was common to have a children&apos;s maid and often a house maid. And a kitchen maid or cooking lady who baked bread, made preserves of what the garden and forest provided and if not cooking every day, prepared what could be prepared until next time she came. <br>Sweden wasn&apos;t as &quot;behind&quot; as some people have tried to make it look. It was natural to have maids in small towns on the countryside, too.<br><br>Ps.<br>You have talent for video making! And a very nice voice. You sound like a very kind person! 😄👍

  You might want to put in some nice, fluffy towels. A lovely, light-colored bath mat, some stylish soaps and shampoos, and a scented candle—then the bathroom would probably feel a bit better.

  Don&apos;t worry about the bathroom. It&apos;s fine and till it&apos;s functioning, it is ok. We had the same colours in our &nbsp;bathroom, and we lived with it 10 years. Last year we did renovation, now it&apos;s gorgeous, but till than it was doing the job. It&apos;s important to have running water, toilet, shower. The esthetic is secondary. Have fun and &nbsp;enjoy the house. Greetings from Hungary.
