I grew up in THAT part of NC in the 60-70s. Mopar ruled for quite a while.<br>If you raced, you learn quick, it you ain't pushin new rules, you ain't racin'.

That's funny. Competitors inexplicably getting beat. In '84 I bought an '84 Hurst/Olds and added a 140hp shot of nitrus. That was also the year of an updated Corvette, where in my town, were inexplicably getting beat by my Hurst. That's funny.

I clicked on this because in the early 70's I built 1/24 scale car models, and AMC or one of them made a model kit for that car which I bought and built. I can remember most or all of them but that is one I'll always remember because it looked sooo cooool. (I was about 9 y.o. at the time).

"Sox and Martin" were my favorites in the mid 60s-70! As a teenager, I worked at the Detroit Dragway selling those Pepsi drinks and got to go in the pits and saw them up close with that Cuda. Good times to watch them racing! Bought a used 70 Dodge Challenger when I was in the Marines but was always wanting a "Cuda!"
