  Some people like 'having a place' and being told what to do and how to think. That's why people tug their forlock to institutions like the MAGA movement, Royalty, Trade wives, Religion, Reform (in the UK). These institutions give you (within reason) position and power, and also a lack of responsibility for your awful actions. That's why people love the Army. You can shoot people for fun all under a blanket of 'us good, them evil'.

  My experience has been "servants' become trusted family members over time.  In Latin America they may share a table w you for bkfst

  I do wonder what housekeeper did all day. Yes she had to do orders and keep accounts, and count sheets and tell staff what to do but what else for the other 14 hours a day?

Not every single thing done was to spite the employees. Trying too hard to sway it as absolutely miserable with no breaks, no holidays, never a single fringe benefit which anyone interested in these times knows is not true. These people were not slaves, no one forced them to work in this industry. This was not the only form of employment available to them. A balanced approach would have been so much better.

  And this is why we are where we are. The English enslaved their own people, and then moved onto scotland, ireland and Wales, and from there to the world. Everything is money and power for them, everything. The class system is horrendous and it still deeply exists. The nobility in the UK, the peerage, the royal family, should be dsimanteld and the wealth and land given back to the citizens, except that many of the citizens like being serfs.

  So interesting!!! Thank you. The way these hard-working servants then we&apos;re treated is unbelievable. And, if you can trust some of the Royal servants giving interviews now, they are still treated badly by the upper class. It&apos;s a shame!

  You have a most precise and lovely voice. I enjoyed listening to everything you said. Perfect for this documentary. The British accent is definitely the classiest, in my opinion.
