I remember Tony on the first episode of Time Team, when he knew nothing about archeology. Look how far he's come! Still the best storyteller ever.

When I was 14 , I wrote to Tony Robinson because I really loved anything to do with history and wanted to become an archeologist. I wrote and asked for some advice. He wrote back saying to ask my careers advisor and there's plenty of information at my local library. He also sent me a signed postcard. That was 2003. He was my idol and i love anything with him in it.

Heartbreaking to think that the bones of these people are being treated with the respect due to a human being but when they were alive they were treated like cattle.

I'm 73 and recently found the marriage certificate of my great grandparents. Neither of them was able to sign their name. We have moved on so much in a century and a half. We must not let the rich turn the clock back.

There are many people today who would cheer on the re-establishment of these poor houses, under the same conditions. While forgetting that they would be only a few lost paychecks away from becoming an inmate themselves.

I discovered, when researching my family history, that my great grandfather aged 8 and his two sisters aged 11 and 6 were in Windsor Union Workhouse in 1861. I subsequently discovered that their mother had died at home in 1854 of cholera and their father aged just 26 had died in the same workhouse in 1855. It breaks my heart to think what those poor children would have had to endure.

Those people having to walk so far just to use the toilet reminds me of companies today who try to control restroom breaks for employees. Sometimes we haven't advanced as much as we would like.
