welcome to B.C. & a little trivia about the highway construction - during the initial construction of the Alaska Highway, dozers and other machinery would indeed sink into the permafrost when the insulating ground cover was removed. This is because the permafrost, permanently frozen ground, would thaw and destabilize when exposed to warmer temperatures and the weight of the machinery . They solved the issue after the initial construction began .

Exciting video! Petro-Canada is the only place that takes EFS card. If you have trouble using it at the gas station, you call EFS to unlock something (forget the name). Their phone number is on the back of your EFS card. I have no trouble to use EFS at Petro-Canada few weeks ago. Good luck and safe travels!
