The technology for kinect is actually really cool, just not for whatever microsoft wanted you to use it for. You can hook up a kinect to your pc and you've got a budget mo-cap solution. Really useful for indie game development.

Had one when i was a kid and I'll be honest, had so much fun with it... As a kid in that time that was the best thing ever.
