  This is the genre that if you lose, you literally lose, no team mates to blame its all on you. Thats why I love fighting Games

  It’s not because arcades are in cities, that may have been the case when arcades were in the scene but at this point the majority of the diversity comes from the choice of FGC supported games. Street fighter HUGE in Korea, China, Japan fighters Z is fucking huge everywhere but something I’ve always noticed is that black kids seem to gravitate towards fighters Z no surprise tho EVERYONE loves DBZ. I could go on but the reality of the FGC is everyone started on their own and found friends within the community it’s the honest accepting nature of the FGC that promotes it’s diversity it’s where introverts shine

  Fighting game community is just like groups of students from different schools meeting at an arcade but without the irl brawling outside an hour later

  the FGC is unique among esports because its culture grew from people yelling at each other in person at arcades as opposed to kids yelling at each other through voice chat.

  I'm fucking losing it when they had actual(?) police officers in the Eleague Kbrad vs Wolfkrone match. They really played it up that those 2 would get in a fist fight LMAO

  Well Martial arts are HUGE in asia or obivous reasons, so they love it, the black commmunity in the US overlap mmassively with asian martial arts movie culture, anime,  stuff like that. Financial diversity also comes from the fact that you buy 1 game and can play that for thousands of hours practicing because you can afford other games... So you focus on one. Cities having arcades is a good shout early one, which created natural representation and word of mouth in diverse communities, siblings passing it on too. There are many aspects that would make a diverse FGC a reality. Not to mention that the only thing the FGC cares about is merrit.. You are the best at a game? You have to be respected because you cant really talk shit to someone that beats your ass live on stage again and again infront of a crowd XD
