  Louisiana here. House is 42 years old. My hot water heater is in my attic. &nbsp;That is Both good n bad. I do have natural gas heater and dryer. Oven is still electric. &nbsp; <br><br>I also have foam insulation in the attic. I used to keep track of my utility bills after I had it sprayed in. &nbsp;I found on average a $75-80 savings in the summer months. &nbsp;Plus you know the house just feels cooler. &nbsp;<br><br>I so enjoy your videos. &nbsp;Thanks.

  He&apos;s right about Xfinity cable box, Directv, receiver using power, (40 watts 24-7). &nbsp;I have mine on a timer power strip for automatic shutdown at night along with TV.

  What about those smart meters the power companies slapped on our homes over ten years ago? People complain that their power bill is higher now than when they had analog meters?

  Western, NY - My power company charges just as much as my usage for delivery and infrastructure charges. NYSEG started installing smart meters across WNY. We opted out. Then everyone started complaining on the news their electric bills went up a lot. People can&apos;t even afford to run their air conditioners in the summer. Luckily most people have natural gas to power their heaters in the winter.

  We have our water heater set at a hotter temperature because we just like hotter water.

  OBSERVATION....You can unplug everything but one item (or a group of items) &nbsp;you can never get away from..POWER COMPANY FEES AND PROGRAM CHARGES

  So, Ray, I see that you do mention quite a bit. I am a certified BPI energy auditor for the state of Michigan. We work with the Department of Energy auditing homes and energy for the Weatherization Assistance Program.<br><br>My question to you is: you really need to go over what shoulder months do to your electric bill. I don&apos;t think people understand what shoulder months are and how it can affect our use of electricity and how power companies can use it against us.
