He’s known as the “Big Blue Boy-scout” for a reason. Even though he’s all powerful, he’s still more human than actual human beings. He’s not always stoping life ending threats…

It’s those little things he does that matter just as much. Like helping a cat out a tree… talking to a guy who’s down on his luck while eating a burrito with him… saving a little boy from an abusive father… or stopping a girl from jumping…

Superman is the reason why Dreams keeps us alive. He represents the meaning of Hope. Him preventing a Girl from committing suicide shows exactly what he stands for.

I've always liked Superman but it wasn't until I read All Star that he became my favorite character. Something about it and how Grant Morrison describes the character just clicked with me.

If you haven't yet, watch the Fleischer Superman shorts. Very straightforward writing but absolutely beautifully animated. Nothing looks like that today.

This comic book saved my life, obviously the bit with Regan in particular. I never thought I'd ever see a page on a BOOK during a difficult point in my life, to move me to tears, and yet it did.

All Star Superman is a master class in character and a perfect example of how a writer who truly loves a character can add a masterpiece to their canon.

All-Star Superman was actually the first comic I bought when I got my first paycheck when I was 15. That book is an experiential event and had changed the way I looked at Superman (I unfortunately had an edgy "Superman is lame" phase at the time.)

I just finished reading the compact edition of All Star Superman earlier today and it's the only full Superman story I've read so far but it's really good, I'm trying to read more Superman comics, mainly because of the new movie, but I really enjoyed this one, more for the little things in it, like talking to the kid on the rooftop to prevent her from jumping off and even the moment with Clark talking to Lex in the cell. That's Superman, not just stopping world ending threats like Doomsday or Darkseid, but also just talking with any random person he might bump into during the day or just saving a cat from a tree, the little things like that are what I really like and appreciate about Superman, and I grew up with the Henry Cavill and Injustice versions of Superman, mainly Cavill since I really didn't play Injustice when it first came out, it took me a few years to finally play Injustice, but I prefer the hopeful and optimistic versions of Superman.

I didn’t read this comic series, but I really like the animated movie and I wish it was longer, this is by far my favorite Super man story because this really shows just how powerful and how much of a good man Superman is.

I think you should read Superman: Up in the Sky (2019) if you haven’t. I personally love this story and I think you’ll like it as well.

I always thought Superman was boring until I read All-Star Superman. Have loved the character ever since. Still my favourite Superman story. The page where he comforts the girl on the roof is what I would show people if they ask me to sum up Superman’s character.

This comic is also the reason I will buy anything drawn by Frank Quitely.
