If you look at Superman's history you'll see that this comic is a love letter from Grant Morrison to Superman with all the references to his old silver age powers and how many concepts of one-off stories Superman had were incorporated into All-star Superman.

The Bizzaro story works so well because the reader spends the whole time demeaning those people until they realize Superman has the capacity to see us regular humans the same.

My favorite story of all time. Such a wonderful ending for the greatest character.

Man I was feeling really bad but Superman really knows how to inspire a little bit of hope.

 What a masterpiece!
Morisson knew, he was not only writing an ordinary superhero story, but the first and best superhero character ever created!

I think you got confused on the Solaris bit. He beat and subdued Solaris to 'repent' over millenia, leading to the DC 1 Million timeline where Solaris is depicted initially as a 'good' being before something corrupts/returns to evil and THEN becomes the villian that attacks in the far future again.

All the All-Star Superman was doing was setting up the DC 1 Million storyline.

I always interpret the ending as All-Star Superman becoming a version of Superman One-Million. Because, minus one or two gaffs in events (like Solaris), it seems like a prequel in every sense.

Also, there was something about Grant Morrison's notes in the hardcover copy Absolute All-Star Superman hardcover that named one of the Supermen "Superman-2" or "Superman 2" , causing people to think he's the clone. Or something like that. IDK, it's been a minute.

5:44 I’ve been hating on the change they’ve made to doomsday recently, but after hearing Rob talk about all star Superman again, it makes sense. For all superman is now, it’s nothing compared to what he WILL be, and it only makes sense that the same should go for at least one of his villains.

It is a classic story and it has a few bumps but it is Superman at his best. A Superman that strives to save everyone and mourns when he cannot. It is what he’s meant to be a symbol of hope. It is how I like to remember him.

I only ever saw the animated film but it's still up there as one of my all time favorite Superman stories bar none, Superman vs The Elite is a close second though.
