I'm a song leader in a Baptist church. It's interesting to me as I hear old fashioned songs like this one... that there's something special here. This song most likely won't show up on your typical Christian music station. But there's something special here that contemporary popularity and polish cannot produce.

I love the blues presentation, perfect for expressing profound emotions of loss and hope. I especially like how the song writer encouraged the listener to remember the flower still grows and the birds still sing, life can renew itself. Also I especially appreciate the ending, using a Psalm to remind us there is a Divine power that will always be light and hope, giving us resilience and endurance to live life!
