The bigest difference between the PTR91 and the HK91/HKG3, is the barrel. The HK91 and the G3 have cold hammer forged (CHF) and a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGe3PbFvaDA&t=72">1:12</a> twist on a polygonal rifling. This makes some difference in the accuracy department.

HK Parts sells a special sight tool to adjust the drum ($30 bucks?)<br> If you want to lighten and clean up the trigger-- Bill Springfield has been my go-to. You just mail him your trigger pack. <br>Also get an HK21 buttpad and cocking piece. -100% worth the upgrade.

After four years in the Infantry-USMC,I enlisted in the Army ,the Army's worst ever tracked vehicle mechanic.<br>one week in 1986 we did some dog & pony show with a Bundeswehr PanzerGrenadier Brigade .We got to cross train on each others small arms ,MG-3 & the G-3 .My first time seeing the weapon ,they gave me a 20 round magazine & a target at 100 meters.<br>The barrel looking rear sight took my slow witted ass a couple of minutes to figure out ,<br>my first two shots were slightly high & to the right .<br>the next eighteen rounds were in the black.I Was equally impressed with myself & with the weapon.

I just odered a Century Arms CA-3 in a Christmas sale at PSA. PTR barrel and receiver, built on a Portuguese G3 surplus kit. I hope it I didn't get burned, $699.

You were the first guy to spend time demonstrating the rotating rear sight. I find that to be another fascinating feature with this rifle. I am researching this G3 clone , because I'm looking for another historical rifle.

I love my PTR 91 AS with the G3 furniture. Scoped it out and replaced the pistol housing with a G3 as well, works so much better.
