deep breath
If it were pronounced "Heckler and cock" we would have spelled it Heckler and cock.

9:10 they weren’t terrorists in Die Hard, they had no ideology behind what they were doing, they were professional thieves, pretending to be terrorists to mask their heist.

As a conscript I used both the G3 and the MP5, and yes, they really are that similar. With the G3 you felt powerful, with the MP5 you felt cool. Loved them both!!

Heckler & Koch does not publicly release exact, cumulative production numbers for the MP5.but its probably in several hundred thousands already, being license manuf in several countries. It was and still is a superlative 9mm SMG w/c really revolutionized close-quarters engagements for its closed-bolt & roller-delayed system. It gave an exceptionally smooth lead delivery with drastically reduced recoil & kept shots on target at 700-900 rpm depending on the variant.

I am a retired cop. I worked in a major U.S. city. We got a radio call one day at a hole in the wall restaurant. One of the people who worked there found an MP5 on a seat at one of the booths. I’m not sure how you casually walk into a restaurant with an MP5 without anybody noticing. I find it even stranger that somebody apparently ate there, exited the restaurant, and accidentally left their MP5 behind.

I've shot one (fixed stock) exactly one time, and the most memorable thing is how easy it was. I had learned shooting on G36 and G3 before, and the MP5 went to my shoulder like it was specifically made to my ergonomics. But then I'm pretty much industry standard size with limb proportions etc.. It's really very ergonomic and feels very "natural".

That occasion was on a US base in Germany, and I managed to get US army sharpshooter badge (=silver) on first try. As a mediocre marksman. It just works!

The HK weapons system video is to this day one of the coolest things ever produced. It was actually the source of the guy on the cover of the original Rainbow Six game.
