One adventure I love running for new players is "Moon over graymoor", really good mistery with all the different kinds of playstyles.

I think you hit it right on the head with this one. The beginning is always the hardest. Even more so for green Dm's. I've played sense '94 and Im gonna steal one!

I like the delivery of your videos.  Direct, not overembelished, and an even energy level.

Thanks for introducing me to Temple of the Moon Priests. I've only recently started looking into 1-page dungeons

I learned most of what I needed to know about the basics making adventures from Keep on the Borderlands and Isle of Dread back in the 80s. I loved the rumor table in Keep for the sandbox, but the Reavers in Harkenwold taught me a new trick -- the "catch phrase" for NPCs that helps make them come to life. I learned ways to make hex crawls from Dread, and over the years have run some that players have enjoyed (because it is a lost art for WoTC versions of the game). I thought I was pretty good at hex crawls compared to the average DM, but Dolmenwood puts my stuff to shame!! My hex crawl design leveled up from reading Dolmenwood!!!

Great information! Concerning the 5e starter box sets, Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is also superior to the other two because the pre-generated character sheets are better, and the character's backgrounds are better at directing players regarding roleplay and what their characters should be doing. Being shorter than Lost Mines is also beneficial because it's less of a time commitment for DM and players.

Against the Cult of the Reptile God (AD&D 1e) is also worth looking into.
