This channel is accurately named. So many ignorant comments. The Wall is a masterwork.

Giving the trial a 0 is such an awful take

There’s something profoundly compelling about Roger Waters’ raw, almost unhinged vocal delivery in The Wall. That 'madman' tone doesn’t just suit the songs - it defines their emotional weight. It captures the psychological descent of the character Pink with such authenticity that no polished voice could have conveyed the same alienation, rage, and inner torment.

I got half way through Mother and couldn't listen to any more of your comments. The album concept is not hard to grasp. He goes from a baby to a young adult, getting shit on his whole life. From losing his dad in the war, to teachers abusing him, to his mom being overprotective. All these events in his life led him to want to isolate himself from the world...build a wall around him. He builds the wall, then regrets it. To rip on Waters vocally and lyrically in this album makes me not want to listen to any more of your reactions. Maybe you guys are just too young to appreciate or get it. This is literally the greatest album ever and your jamming to ABITW part 2, which is the radio hit and not what makes this album great. Sorry guys I loved a lot of your reactions but your immaturity showed in this reaction...at least the part I listed to.

for me you didn't understand anything about this LP especially musically, you can't talk above a work of art like this.

I just started watching this and have not made it beyond the beginning, but I saw a comment that someone gave The Trial a 0. Obviously I hope this comment was incorrect entirely but it seems like it is likely based on what he saw so if that is indeed confirmed to be the case by continued watching, we may have found the dumbest mfer ever.

Even their description of how the album came to be is lacking in the most imprtant information about how Waters conceived of it. Not to mention Richard Wright did NOT get fired but rather LEFT the band for multiple reasons. They also left out the the very unimportant fact that "The Wall" actually led to the break up of Pink Floyd...which was slightly averted when Roger Waters agreed to leave the band.
Gen Z. Pfft. These boys do not have enough life experience to even begin to appreciate the brilliance of The Wall. What do they know about War? Loss? Isolation? Madness? This album just cannot be fully appreciated by children.

Rogers voice is good to the English ear, although sometimes over theatrical to make his point. It’s called emotion.
Every pink floyd album is 10/10 without Syd and including Roger. The things you don’t like are still meant to be there for the enjoyment of others. I won’t be watching after the final cut, put it that way.

Floyd played this original show 12 times in the states. 7 in CA at the LA Memorial Sports Arena and 5 at Nassau Coliseum. The studio recording is awesome and historical, but live, it was a totally unique concert event. Pink Floyd theatrics, inflated balloon characters, roadies building the wall, the band playing behind the wall, breaking the wall down, watching it collapse, surround sound and David playing the Comfortably Numb solo on top of the huge, high wall, is a lifelong memory. I wish you gents could have been there. Understanding a bit about Water's life, the British culture, their formal educational system, the war and it's effect on his life is part of this conceptual masterpiece.

I had to bail after side one, as you boys seemed to have completely missed the point of Roger's vocals. This is a rock opera. In as such, Roger is for the most part doing an operatic style vocal characterization of the main protagonist of the piece... a tortured rock star's slow descent into madness. For those who understand and appreciate what he's doing, it's one of the key elements that gives the album so much power and uniqueness. The fact that much of it is inspired by elements of his own life, (something else you seemed to have completely missed the boat on), as well as that of co-founder Syd Barrett, who actually DID lose his mind at the very beginnings of Floyd's success, is again what makes the album so intriguing and powerful.
Your inability to grasp any of this renders much of your so-called reaction fairly useless. The irrational hatred of Roger Waters throughout (one of the premier lyricists in all of Rock and brilliant conceptualist), is as weird as any reaction or review I've seen on here.
Your take is childish, shallow, and just plain dumb. Put a few more years on yourselves before you come for this masterpiece. 👎🏻👎🏻
