It's not an Amish trick, but I dropped a giant size, full laundry detergent liquid and it cracked wide open. Detergent everywhere. Didn't want to waste it. Got every sock and footie I own to soak it up. Every load, I threw in a sock. Worked great.

You can also spray your broom with vinegar b4 sweeping. This keeps down dust, helps catch pet hair and gives freshness and helps remove odors from home and broom.

Ash might work, when it's wet it turns black. Before going inside you better pull your shoes off or you will have black smut all over the floors.😊😊

putting tools inside a bucket filed with sand with motor oil will help coat the tools to prevent rust.

when I spill grease, I put flour on it. After the grease has been soaked up, I take the mixture and make small balls, bake them at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Let them cool and feed the birds. Hence - no waste.

Oh what i would do for a ringer washer again I had one in 1995 when I had my 1st child and I hung out to dry. The cleanest clothes whitest white's. Best washer ever
