  The crap sold at WalMart is in no way the same as a Pioneer SX-1010. There&apos;s a reason that Sherwood sells for $200. There are lots of 50+ year-old Pioneers that still work today. I know, I service them for a living. The only place that Sherwood will be 50 years &nbsp;- or even ten years - from now is a landfill. <br><br>The build is crap, and so is the power rating. An SX-1010 will produce a steady sine wave at 100 watts per channel indefinitely without overheating or failure. The Sherwood won&apos;t even reach 100 watts per channel because its power rating it a lie. And if you do run it at full power for more than five minutes, it will overheat and die. Not shut down, not go into protect mode, it will burn up either the amp channels or the power transformer.

  I have had many vintage receivers. Kenwood , Marantz, Pioneer, Yamaha, Harmon Karon since the early 70&apos;s. I have a modern Denon AVR 3700H, Polk ATI Speakers. My Vintage stereo Is a Kenwood Model Eleven. I had it cleaned and serviced in the early 2000&apos;s but plan to get the pots, caps and lights done when I find someone I trust. It is a beautiful example. Service is sketchy in Tallahassee. <br>The best gear I ever found was from an elderly neighbor who asked me if I would consider taking his speakers off his hands. It was a pristine pair of Belle Klipsch speakers! They were AMAZING!

  My Sherwood S-6040 is still doing a fine job with all the components, a pioneer 25 dish changer and my speakers are on the floor at ear hight , the KLH AV-55s are still amazing

  One of my favorite receivers I own is a Sansui G7500 from 1978. It still sounds exquisite and will be with me until the end of my life. I purchased it years ago, and it was my first receiver. It came broken, and it gave me the inspiration to learn to fix electronics. So, I started buying all kinds of vintage broken receivers for cheap to learn before I laid my hands on the Sansui. Now I own over 30 vintage receivers that I work on myself. It&apos;s my only addiction, but I love it.😂

  I wish i still had any of the receivers i picked up in the 90s at garage sales and thrift shops. Usually paid $10-$25 for them. Had a couple of really nice late9 70s to early 80s Marantz that sounded amazing. Lost them over the years through many moves and marriage. Just started putting a little system together to start a vinyl collection again. Just have a Fosi Audio MC331 Tube Integrated Amp with DAC. It is rated for maximum output power of 105W x 2 @ 4ohms but you have to upgrade the crappy power supply it comes with which i just did and it really opened it up. I&apos;m running a pair of Klipsch RP-600M up front ans some Klipsch R-41M for rears along with &nbsp;Klipsch 12&quot; 400W sub in a 10&apos;x10&apos; room and it sounds great for now until I can get somebig boy equipment again.

  I have a Sherwood reciever that I bought new at the Good Guys in Berkeley California back in like 1985. I have a Denon turntable and a Pioneer dual cassette deck and a Sony six disc CD changer. My 2 speakers are Fischer XP88 in wood boxes that I gleaned from my father when I left home...

  I paid $380 for my Yamaha 420 receiver back in 1992. &nbsp;It still works fine. &nbsp;Had to replace one fuse on the back panel.

  My multi channel receiver is a Yamaha RXV-2095 I purchased in 1998. My two channel setup is a Hafler DH-220 feeding a Hegeman Happy 2 preamplifier.

  Yamaha RN303 and &nbsp;pair of &nbsp;Phase Tetros &nbsp;4.5<br>That is my home stereo.<br>And it plays great together.

  Par of Vega 315s with twin 250 watt downward firing Vega subs from some where around 1996 to 2000, denon avr70 5.1 and a crown xls 602 for when I go stereo mode.
