Not to overshare or anything but I watched this for the first time in a hospital bed after ODing and it hit incredibly hard with Gary’s whole character and his ending. <br><br>Been clean and sober 4 years now though, genuinely think watching this helped me grow up quite a bit.

Fun Fact: the scene when young Gary King looks at the sunset or sunrise in the beginning, you can see a shooting star or the Blanks arrival.

Hot Fuzz is still my favorite of the trio, but this one is still enjoyable in it's own way.

"the end is Nigh"<br><br>The voice at the end is Bill Nighy.<br><br>Multiple rewatching is quite rewarding due to there being so many references, callbacks and foreshadowing.

The gal sitting next to Simon Pegg on his right in the AA meeting is the zombie girl in his backyard in "Shaun of the Dead" that he shoved backwards onto the pipe.

I didn't appreciate this movie as much as it deserves until Iearned about the AA program also being 12 steps and the whole subtext behind all that.
