Titus and Megator are two of them. These massive Masters of the Universe Giants were never released in the United States, which means most American collectors only ever see them in photos, at conventions, or in expensive online listings. But while toy hunting in Florence, Italy, I walked into a vintage toy shop and found something I never expected to see sitting on the shelf: not one, but multiple MOTU Giants. In this episode, Ed and I visit De Alice in Florence, Italy, a shop packed wall-to-wall with vintage toys, European exclusives, strange packaging, and the kind of pieces that make collectors stop in their tracks. We find a near-complete Titus, learn how often these legendary figures actually show up in Italy, and get a firsthand look at why they have become such major grails for Masters of the Universe fans around the world. A loose Titus missing armor and accessories can still bring around $2,000 in the United States. Boxed versions can be listed for tens of thousands. So when we found a nearly complete Titus priced at €1,800, it immediately raised the question every collector asks: is that actually a great deal when you are standing in the country where these figures were originally released? But the Giants were only part of the story. 0:00 The Masters of the Universe Giants 0:47 Vintage toy hunting in Florence, Italy 1:40 Strange European toy packaging 5:06 A real Titus on the shelf 6:47 Why Titus costs so much 9:45 Italian-exclusive MOTU finds 12:00 Rare Scare Glow accessories 15:06 Completing a European Scare Glow 16:08 More MOTU Giants appear 18:11 Meet Mullet Megator 20:12 Is €600 a great deal? 22:20 The Florence toy hunt recap This toy hunt turned into a deep dive through some of the coolest Italian and European Masters of the Universe collectibles I have ever seen. We found unusual European MOTU packaging, Italian-exclusive cassette tape figures, Mega Laser items, rare accessories, an incredible glow-in-the-dark European Scare Glow staff, strange stampers, old Magic Boy catalogs, and more oddball pieces that most collectors in the U.S. never get the chance to see in person. And then there was Megator. Not just any Megator, either. This one had been given a haircut sometime in the 1980s and was rocking one of the most unforgettable mullets in Masters of the Universe history. It may not be factory perfect, but it has personality for days. Honestly, Mullet Megator might be the greatest accidental custom in MOTU collecting. That is what makes hunting vintage toys in another country so much fun. You are not just looking for the same figures in another store. You are discovering the regional releases, strange accessories, packaging variations, childhood modifications, and pieces of toy history that tell a completely different story from the one many of us grew up with in America. If you love He-Man, Skeletor, Castle Grayskull, Scare Glow, Megator, Titus, vintage Mattel toys, European exclusives, or the thrill of finding a true toy grail in the wild, this is one you do not want to miss. What would you have done: bought the near-complete Titus, taken home Mullet Megator, or spent your money on the weird Italian-exclusive MOTU items instead?
