  Haha, sure. Let´s pretend that St Petersburg is not hidden away in a far away corner of the Baltic Sea, that Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland dominates the same sea, that every Russian ship has to pass through the Öresund strait and that the Swedes have the world´s stealhtiest submarines and a huge labyrinth of islands to hide in. Let´s also pretend that Russia has good fleet of fighter jets and the Nordic countries have no dominance in the sky. THEN... Russia might actually have a shadow of a chance. Too bad it just has nothing to do with reality.<br><br>(I know see that you do an estimation of the air forces on each side; although I believe that you subestimate the capacity of the Gripen and overestimates the quality of the Russian jets. But I still don´t see you taking the most important part in this equation into account: Russia heavily relies on a free waterway to St Petersburg for economic reasons. It can not win over NATO in a naval war, rather it would be destroyed in 0 time. And it can not afford to loose it´s way to the Atlantic. So a real war isn´t even on the map; Russia can´t take the risk. A skirmish? I don´t they dare, especially now that NATO has started to get their act together and flex some muscles in the region.)

  The real and only question is will the US recognize article 5. If the US is out of the equation then NATO is absolutely gone.

  Speaking about aerial combat, honestly i think if they attacked, they&apos;ll be screwed within a week, not weeks. West aerial technology is far superior to Russia&apos;s. They can&apos;t win in the air. It&apos;ll be very similar to Iran. Not global economic disaster, but total humiliation of Russia. And ofc Ukraine will use that advantage of reduced numbers in front line to push them back. Even if it&apos;ll be just a few km, it&apos;s worth.<br>BTW u not included naval forces. It&apos;ll be huge thing too.

  I think you forgot naval and air supremacy. In a matter of days the ground troops from Russia would be obliberated by Naval bormbardment and heavy bombing. Of course Russia has naval- and airpower too but it would not put much up of a resistance against a full powered nordic, german, and polish navy and airforce.

  To me , this scenario is unrealistic. What Putin wants is achieving public support for his current actions + massive (if not total) mobilisation. In order to achiieving this, &nbsp;he wants bună a skermish bad enough to be able to claim NATO involvment and guilt, while enraged russians poor into recruitment centers BUT small enough to keep Nato out of Russia and Ukraine..while.making them tremble, argue each other and hesitant not to anger Russia even more...more like a 1939 Sitting War if you like...while he does his thing in Ukraine with his new conscripts.

  It is amusing to see videos like this, which aim to scare people by creating an illusion of Russian military might. There is a vast difference between what Russia claims it is capable of doing and what is actually happening in Ukraine. Russia failed to conquer Ukraine even when the country was caught completely off guard; how, then, do they imagine they could conquer the Baltic states, which have been preparing for war for the past decade? True, the Baltic nations do not possess massive armed forces like &quot;Mighty Mother Russia,&quot; but they have strong allies ready to fight against the Russians.

  No chance will russia open a 2nd front. <br>Whats russia gonna do against NATOs airforce? Its HUGE its MOBILE its ADVANCED.<br>We know what russias best air defence can do against NATOs best airforce. Weve seen it in iraq twice, afghanistan, iran.<br>Russias forces will get wiped out.<br>NATOs standing army is around 3.5million with a reserve more than twice that.<br>3rd generstion v 5th generstion is a no contest.<br>NATO doesnt need USA either the coalition stands as powerful as USA without USA. &nbsp;<br>USA been in NATO is the failsafe given european nations history of warring with each other theyre supposed to be the voice of reason.<br>All that would happen if russia attacked the baltics is theyd make upto 200km advance before been absolutely decimated by overwhelming superior air power.<br>NATO ground troops arnt needed to destroy an invading russian army, even 1million+ would be wiped out in days
