  Once upon a time you would have seen something of this quality on the BBC - it really is that good.  Nobody would have imagined Fred Dibnah would have been such a good subject, but this guy is just the same - passionate, engaging, knowledgeable and clearly completely unassuming.  And a brilliant "interview" that just makes him, his factory and his story the star, without any gimmicks. There's a lot of nonsense on social media and YouTube, but then sometimes it shows you something like this.  Genuinely superb.

  What a remarkable man. I just love small company manufacturers. In 1979 as an apprentice toolmaker at a family owned company I made my first presstool for the mechanism for the Mars Clix hotdrink vending machine cup holder. Then the toolroom was closed. I lost my job with all other apprentices and toolmakers as the company was loosing money. They kept on the presstool maintenance engineers to keep the pressshop running for a few years, then it closed down. My dad was the production manager and it was his decision to close the toolroom. Yes I was made redundant by my own dad. He walked away from the company and became the MD and owner of a high tech sheetmetal work company. He offered me a job...I said no thanks...😂😂.

  This man and his fellow industrial engineers were and to some extent still are, the backbone of British industry. To those not involved in manufacturing, it may seem that this kind of business has disappeared, but there are still thousands of such firms around, highly specialised and efficient and content with their revenue.

  What an amazing person and factory.   This is the kind of company you want to work for.    We'll all miss the analog world made of machines like this.

  I walk my dog past that factory every day and it’s always so fascinating to see such a slice of history nonchalantly sitting amongst quiet residential streets.

  Absolutely lovely to watch , all the big industrial machines. I work for a big engineering company and they had to get rid of machines like that out of the tool rooms because they didn't meet new safety standards. British made machines when Britain ruled.
