  I visited Cleveland for the first time in the summer of 2025. Mostly to go to the rock Hall of Fame. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice a city it has become. That museum alone is worth the time to visit. But also the Christmas Story house, and the Cuyahoga National Park to the south. In the summer, the Lakeshore is beautiful.

  Please don't minimize the very significant industrial activity that continues. The Cleveland Cliffs Cleveland Works is among the most productive steel mills in the world. Plus, high value precision manufacturing is a huge part of our overall GDP.

  Cleveland has a huge metropolitan area, if you counted cleveland as a 50 mile circle it's about 3.5 million people.

  As someone who grew up here, I deeply appreciate your positive coverage of Cleveland. It is needed, and most of what you are saying is true. The cultural institutions, the clinic, the hall of fame, etc. these are all great. However, it paints a partial picture and gives a sense of finality that is undeserved. First - Cleveland's "comeback/recovery" has been incredibly uneven, with economic growth failing to uplift major portions of the residential population, which has meant that Cleveland remains one of the most socioeconomically stratified cities in the country. You can drive from posh suburbs that feel like Greenwich CT and only a few miles later, literally on the same continuous streets, be in some of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in the country. Basic city services remain challenges here and poverty is often intergenerational. The city is having a relatively hard time attracting new jobs on a large scale compared to nearby cities like Pittsburgh and Columbus, partly due to the lack of a large high quality university pumping out young people looking for local jobs. CWRU just isn't large enough and the region's public universities cannot compete with OSU. Many young Clevelanders, myself included, are faced with the difficult proposition of contributing to an ongoing brain drain due to there being so much more economic opportunity elsewhere. So while there is much to be proud of and the city is in a far better place now than it has been in a long time, much work remains to make it a place that serves the entire region's population well. We need to leverage our strengths, especially affordability, to attract talent, rebuild the tax base etc.

  Born and raised in Cleveland and still live here. I used to shiz about Cleveland and left a few times but Cleveland has a way of bringing you back. Cleveland is much better these days and much cheaper to live here with great parks. iI Cleveland can just eliminate the corruption and reduce the high property taxes.
