  Oh my goodness , Ollie and Otis have hair cuts. Did I miss something on the homestead channel? &nbsp;No bananas here in newly labeled zone 4. I am grateful for Costco. Loved the show always learning.

  G&apos;Day from sub-tropical Brisbane Australia. I am growing &quot;Lady Finger&quot; variety Banana&apos;s and recently plated a dwarf size plant with the idea to stop going up ladders as I get old(er) ;)<br>To avoid having a whole bunch ripe at once I like to let them get to the mature but still green stage. Then cut one hand off starting at the top of the bunch. These are put in a plastic bag with a ripe banana and in a few days they start to yellow. As it&apos;s only me eating them works out well and reduces waste.

  Just started my first plant here in Central Florida this spring. You gained a new subscriber. Very useful. I have been pruning mine but didn’t realize it’s optimal to have 3 main plants. I’ve got a new pup that I may need to transplant.

  I had two cavendish and now I have 6. lol. I’m in zone 8b and wintered them in my garage. They didn’t produce fruit last year so hoping they will this year. This was very informative thank you.

  Brian this &nbsp;is the only video I’ve ever seen about banana plants and I love it! I needed this information. I my aunt in Alabama has these and I’ve always wanted some. They just stick them in ground and the go forever. Another aunt in northern Missouri cuts them off at the ground every year and mulches over them by her pool and they always come back.

  I can&apos;t wait until I move to our new property. It will be in zone 8b in a protected valley. I hope we can do bananas! Also, you are brave to shovel without putting your shoes into 4WD 😂

  Here in subtropical Australia I use an old rusty hand saw to prune them.

  ,we live in Ecuador 🇪🇨 and everyone have bananas in the yard. I have 5 bananas, one red banana, and plantan . Nobody ever trim them here. And, they still huge. Mine was 12 feet tall in one year from lil comb .
