  I lived in Chicago, for 40 yrs and we basically had our own Ocean 🌊 and Beaches, without going to the Coast! “Lake Michigan”

  Toronto has an energy saving feature where cold lake water is pumped into downtown and used to cool major buildings, then used as part of the drinking water supply.  Very energy efficient.  The system is called Enwave

  I was born in Michigan and close to the water. I am a water person and always will be. I served in the Navy and sailed the ocean blue, but I still love my Great Lakes. So glad I live here.

  This video perfectly captures why they’re called 'Inland Oceans.' It’s mind-blowing that Lake Superior alone holds enough water to cover all of North and South America!

  The Sleeping Bear Dunes legend also says the two cubs who "drowned" in Lake Michigan transformed into North Manitou Island and South Manitou Island while the Mother Bear became the Sleeping Bear.

  Calling them inland oceans is spot on. Standing on the shore, you literally cannot see the other side and the waves can get wild. It’s mind-blowing how massive they actually are.

  I remember glying jnto Cleveland and from 10k ft you couldn't see land it was truly like an ocean.. so impressive..

  This video was so beautifully shot! I never realized how diverse the Great Lakes region is. From the stunning cliffs of Pictured Rocks to the turquoise waters of the Bruce Peninsula, it’s truly a world of its own. Thanks for such an educational and visually stunning tour!
