What I love is how the tshirt starts flapping over the tummy rather than stretching across it like a stuffed sack of rice.

My waist measurements don't move that much either, but I'm getting stronger and abs definition is improving!

I'm 47 and started my fitness journey about a year ago as an overweight, out of shape person. During the year I dropped about 15 kg and 4 dress sizes, and these were the signs that I was making progress and kept me motivated. Unlike many advice, I didn't regularly weigh myself, because the number on the scale was something I was obsessed with when I was younger, and I did not want to do that again. Also your brain can be very naughty and make you think your image in the mirror doesn't really change when in reality things are changing so much that even other ppl are noticing it.

Thank you for the information, Nina Marie! I had to tuck my scale away because it was actually discouraging me. My weight loss has been slow yet my clothes are looser, I'm doing more reps, have better mobility, and ditched my daily nap. I'm actually much less hungry and I attribute that to adequate protein and ketosis. Once I changed my mindset to "My goal is consistency", releasing weight naturally became a side effect of habit stacking.

Keep it up everyone! You can release the fat and you will!
5 Ways You Know:
1. Your clothes fit differently.
2. You're getting stronger.
3. The scale isn't moving but your waist is.
4. Your energy and recovery improve.
5. You're hungrier.

I'm in my mid 30s and me and my friend started working out regularly about 10 months ago, and lately my friend asked me if I too started feeling hungrier. And yes, I feel real hunger more often now, I track my calories and nutrients and it feels so good to not be afraid or guilty about eating and to enjoy food in a healthy way!

I track my macros and I'm working out 5 days a week (strength and cardio). I went to bed slightly hungry last night, dozed off and woke up so hungry i couldnt sleep! I had to get up to eat 2 eggs and some yogurt. I never eat late. Today, i woke up feeling great and looking trim. My body needed that, its getting stronger and fitter. Crazy! Thank you for the valuable info!🙏🏼

Just keep going…consistency is key…some people it takes weeks..some months..some years. Everybody is different..your body WILL change..it’s basic physics… be kind and patient with yourself..and keep going. It’s a lifelong journey for health anyway..might as well enjoy the ride.

I started calisthenics exactly 3 months ago. Right before starting I was in a bad phase of my life and lost a lot of weight (fat and muscle). I was thin like a fishing pole, everything was saggy and I had a lot of cellulitis. I was in a heavy burnout for the last 3 years so I decided to go really slow because I tend not to be a very consistent person.

Doing full body basic exercises 3x a week at home with no equipments and eating more (and better) I could notice some difference being only 3 weeks in. I was sitting and mindlessly rested my hand on my thigh and I was like "hey, there's something happening here". My thighs were like gelatin before but I started to feel something getting harder where my quads should be. This gave me more motivation until the next week I could visible notice the pump on my biceps when I was at the mirror fixing my ponytail after working out and my motivation skyrocketed!

I kept doing it consistently and now I'm able to do almost 2x the reps I was able to do before (I do only 2 sets each exercise). My hand doesn't hurt anymore when I'm holding the bedsheet I use for doing rows. Exercises that were hard to do not because of weight but positioning are way easier to do now. I started with 2x 30s planks and now I do 2x 1min. I feel like I'm definitely reaching my limit of reps without extra weight (only body weight for now) so I'm already researching about weights to add to my workouts next month.

When I started the exercises my husband was traveling for work and when he came back I was 2 months in and he said the changes were easily noticeable, especially on the quads, biceps and shoulders. I can see it too now, even though I see myself every day. My quads are visible and my thighs aren't that saggy anymore and the cellulitis improved a little. I'm so happy and proud of myself and I'll never stop doing it! 🥰

(The numbers on the scale barely changed)

it’s been 4 months and i’ve lost only 12 lbs but my waist has shrunk by 4 sizes. i’ve gone from an xl to a medium and my back muscles are defined and no longer flabby. i’ve only been doing crossfit for a month but it’s changed my body so much in that short time, so much more than taking my glp1 medication that i need for diabetes. and i stick to macro bowls for food. eating more is somehow making my body smaller and stronger than when i was starving myself
