Preston ironically seems to have had a darker fate than Gracie and Jessica imo

@terrifytee The twisted part about this is that Jessica could have ended up as an experiment herself. She did state in the ARG that she grew up in the playcare but managed to avoid being chosen as an experiment. She could have known other orphans that were chosen to be a new experiment in the BBI. The fact that she doesn’t see how horrifying it is until the very end. Further proves how twisted Playtime Co. was when indoctrination of the children/employees.

I think Preston should’ve escaped the factory instead of being punished by the prototype and then we could’ve played as him in the series

I believe that Preston Willard is a scientist who genuinely believed he was making a good contribution to humanity at first, but slowly realised just how wrong he was and tried to make up for it. From some other scientists' notes and Jessica's statement, it's clear that these people are blinded by their lust for knowledge to the point of discarding morality. The company founder is Elliot Ludwig, a respected man who was seen as a role model for all. It's no surprise that many scientists came to the factory to work, thinking they were doing a noble cause. Leith Pierre definitely uses this image of Elliot to manipulate his workers. Preston eventually became aware of this and acknowledged that the work was wrong, but it was too late. He was far too involved to escape and was doomed to the prison that he had helped create.

This is going to sound cold, but let's compare 2 employees:

Rowan Stoll was willing to risk death time and time again just to expose Playtime Co.
Even when he KNEW he was going to die, Rowan still didn’t give up the fight.
That was a heroic death.

All Preston did was eventually feel guilty after watching children suffer so he deserved to be punished by The Prototype.

Sorry for my awkward wording. I'm autistic and written word is something I struggle with.

I can try to clarify if you ask me.
Have a great day/arvo/night where ever you are friends :)

Everyone says he was a good guy but, although he felt guilt, he continued with monitoring. Didn’t let media know, didn’t ask for help. He continued despite everything. So his punishment actually is quite suitable I think. Nothing changed. As a human, he just observed and did nothing. As a toy, he does nothing and just observes. This is how experiments saw him probably. Exists without a good contribution

When did Preston write the note? The way he writes about Jessica makes it sound like he wrote it after she died, but that would mean he wrote it after he was turned into a toy, which shouldn’t be possible since he’s immobile.

Every scientist that participated in the BBI are complicit in the heinous crimes against humanity done to all of the orphans but Preston is way more of a good person than a bad one. He cared about people and the experiments, which doomed him no matter what. Playtime Co. is no place for someone with compassion and empathy. I think his ultimate fate is fitting but horrifying. Jessica didn't give a damn until she was begging for her life in front of The Prototype, which double guaranteed her being impaled by him but a part of me wishes that she had been turned into a Toy, too. Being imprisoned and experimented on would've been perfect for her but it is what it is.

The Prototype be acting like Preston's fate is a blessing when it's just a fate worse then death-

Bro can't move, speak, I'm sure he can't even blink! Preston's about as mobile as a vegetable.

Preston's birthday is June 28?! Bunzo Bunny said that birthday in his cardboard cutout. Coincidentally Preston has the body of Bunzo.
