This song was written and composed by poet "Oothukkadu Venkata Kavi (c. 1700–1765) was an Indian composer of Carnatic music . This song is almost 350 years old.

Imagine the god dancing on the head of multiheaded snake jumping from one head to other and then up in the sky and then on the ground all in smooth transition and very playfully.

Yes, they are telling the story of a young god Krishna, when he subdued a multi headed serpent that tormented a village, by dancing on his head until it surrendered.<br><br>And other times, you are right, just notes. Eg:- "thi ra ki tu thaka thom", etc are the notes of dance and sometimes for instruments. Notes for singing are "sa re ga ma...."

It is all one song. It is all set to a 8-beat cycle. Sometimes they start on half beats, sometimes on full beat, but they always cycle to the 8th beat.

After watching this kind of music u don’t watch Bollywood music. Carnatic and Hindustani music beats Bollywood hands down. This is rich culture.

Part of this is Konnakol (or Konnakkol), the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music, effectively acting as a spoken rhythm language

1. This is called Carnatic Music - classical music of South India. Indian Classical music is music for musicians - too. many intricacies and techniques that can only be appreciated by those understand the nuances and intricacies of music. Entire emphasis is on accuracy of notes, and pronunciation. <br>2. This is a song written and composed by a poet-saint Oothukadu venkata subbaiyer, composed in the 17th century! <br>3. Every musician stays within the "raaga" & framework - tone, pitch, beat, accuracy is everything in Indian classical music but they create their own renditions by playing within those notes<br>4. Do listen to the same song sung by Anuradha Sairam and Jayanthi Kumaresh in Darbar. This song is basically a dance song (You might be able to find "Bharatanatyam" danced to this song)
