  I would say M/T are more like football or soccer Cleats and your R/T are your work boots. A/T are your hiking shoes. Passenger tires are your everyday sneakers.

  I love it when I actually learn something new from a video, that has a REAL person talking, not some invisible AI voice, and where the material appears to be well researched and presented clearly with confidence, without artificial hype. You checked all the boxes! Keep 'em coming!! Now I know why I can hear my neighbor coming from half a mile away. It does look cool, though, LOL.

  I think the Toyo RTs are a great tire for someone that has to drive to work everyday but goes off road hunting and fishing and needs a better traction tire than a AT but doesn't need a MT.. I've had the Falken Wildpeak AT3W and BFG KO2 and Duratracs and Ridge grappler and a few mud tires.  Its not often you need a true MT but need a little more than a AT like its raining as your at your hunting place and might not get out.  To me the RT is a good choice but I hunt A Lot !!  My truck is off road more than on the hiway but I'm not mud bogging or overlanding just scouting or hunting and i need a little more traction sometimes but want a decent on road tire too.

  As a tire industry professional. Very good informative video on the industry. R/Ts have kinda been a little bit of an industry secret for about 25 years now. The reason why they havent really been pushed is because of sales. Plain and simple. Believe it or not, even the M/T (and AG tires for that matter) segment isn't that big of a money maker. The sales are in the P (passanger), LT (light truck up to 1 tons (F350/3500), MD (medium duty, [think delivery truck School Busses ETC]) & HD (Heavy Duty [think Semi's, Dump Trucks Etc]) segment.

  I have AT on my f350, didn’t buy it to go off road but some rv parks get nasty after a rain storm. When I got the truck I ditched those Bridgestone duelers I hated those tires especially when towing and it was raining out, put on cooper a/t tires which in my opinion are an excellent balance. A/T tires have the side lugs to get you out when it’s muddy and dig in, and not noisy on the highway. Glad you mentioned load rating, E for an actual truck that tows and many people will put D on a truck that actually needs E rated tires simply because they don’t know the difference.

  I live 10 miles off the highway so 20 miles of dirt/rocky roads every time I leave the house. I run BFG KO2 on my truck and BFG Trail Terrain on my SUVS. Been happy with both,  each offer great off-road traction, quiet on the hard top, great traction in the rain, and I still get good fuel mileage.

  A/T for those that rarely go off-road. I tried R/T tyres and hated them. They ride like a brick and have zero grip in the wet. My go to are the MAXXIS RAZR M/T……quiet, comfortable great on road and fantastic off road and I have done over 90,000km on them without a problem.

  As much as I hate my OG Wrangler Duratracs for their noise, they do awesome on road in the rain on a 30 year old Land Cruiser.
