  Dark romance basically normalizes and romanticizes crimes and labels it romantic. It's honestly disturbing.

  I miss when dark romance was dating a vampire or falling in love with a werewolf. Also so many of these books could EASILY pass as horror thrillers if you remove the ‘banter’

  As a person who was stalked by a random man when I was 15-16 while walking home from school with my older sister, this makes me feel upset. How can people romanticize something so traumatic? This is just incredibly disrespectful towards someone who experienced what I did. I wasn’t in love with the man, my sister and I were literally running for our lives with our dad on the phone ready to call the cops. This makes me sick how authors can make something like stalking so “romantic” when it’s not.

  They only advertise with the freaky aspects, has anyone realised that? Because their books have nothing else to offer. No substance, no message, no commentary, no nothing. It’s just meant to be something you pick up and consume quickly, and the freakier the book is, the more these authors need to compete to outfreak each other, resulting in worse and worse books.

  Imagine thinking that literal acts of violence against women made by the male lead (i.e. the rapist) is &quot;romantic.&quot; The radioactive levels of abomination went beyond the galaxy... so much that this is where the therapist checking the client who had such thinking will call for an appointment with another therapist.

And then call her “his property😈😈” or something??😭 Dark romance could literally work if the dudes weren’t straight up misogynistic!!
