Actually, the TX-P42PX24 is an entry-level HD Ready model from 2010 (Series 20). It was definitely not one of the last plasma models. Panasonic continued production until 2013, releasing much more advanced Full HD series like the GT/VT30, GT/VT50, and the legendary final 60 Series (ZT60/VTW60), which represent the true peak of plasma technology.

I know my phone is listening to me now. My wife just brought home a plasma screen for free, and the first thing I thought was "this has any port I need for retro consoles". Nice video, saved me from having to do any research.

13:34 I feel the same way, not only for anti-spying purposes, but also because TVs without operating systems turn on and off and allow menu navigation WAY faster - when you press the button on the remote, the thing you want to happen happens immediately with no lag or loading.

At this point I'm just impressed my 2008 Pioneer Kuro Plasma still turns on and looks good, it's never been opened or repaired, a shame they don't make TV's reliable like that anymore.
