  Cuckoos actually commit murder with their backs. &nbsp;Cuckoos while still in &apos;naked chicken&apos; mode, have a pressure spot on their backs, and if pressed, they will immediately try to evict the source of the pressure. Meaning other eggs or chicks pressing against them from behind, will immediately trigger eviction mode. &nbsp; &nbsp; Edit: The cuckoo is also capable of evicting other small recently hatched chicks, not just eggs alone. &nbsp; <br><br>The cuckoo loses this &apos;talent&apos; once they start to feather up and the reactive spot is covered over with plumage. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The cuckoo egg is partially incubated while inside the mother before its laid. A perfect timing will result in the cuckoo hatching before the other chicks and letting it begin to remove the competition. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;But sometimes it goes wrong for the mother and she must find a space to lay the egg before its too late. &nbsp;Which might result in the cuckoo being a visible runt among the other and much larger chicks. It will still try to futily eject them. &nbsp; But at this point the parents is highly likely to treat the cuckoo as an immature runt and not feeding it.<br><br><br>The cuckoo also have some other vile tricks, if ending up in a nest with other chicks, it might try to fan out its wings to hide them, and some cuckoos have a wing coloration that makes it seem like the begging beak of a chick when the wings flap. &nbsp; &nbsp;Aditionally, they can call in a way to sound like a whole nestful of hungry chicks to stimulate the parents to redouble the food collection.
