  I finished this coop up today, built off of his plans. total cost 1700 painted, it&apos;s quite a bit of effort for an amateur, took me 6 days, but definitely a &quot;chicken condominium&quot; vs other coops :) it came out really nice.

  We have nick-named the design the Taj MaCoop. &nbsp;I built the coop a year ago with some minor modifications. &nbsp;I put doors on both sides of the coop and run. &nbsp;Having the second set of doors in the coop helps when cleaning. &nbsp;I put galvanized sheet metal &nbsp;in the gaps between the studs as a ramp for the droppings to fall to the cleanup area and not collect between the studs where its more difficult to clean up. &nbsp;I used vertical windows over the side doors instead of horizontal as I could not find horizontal windows with bottom drains. &nbsp; I added a gutter over the nesting box so I can get the eggs without getting soaked when it&apos;s raining. &nbsp;The nesting box door has the latches on the side as will as an old fashion swivel board latch in the middle. &nbsp;I seldom use the side latches as it&apos;s easier to have the middle latch with hands full of eggs. I also ran power to it for lights and a ventilation fan &nbsp;high in the run side wall. &nbsp;The fan provides cooling ventilation in the summer and provides a breeze in the run area. &nbsp;I used structural siding (30 year warranty) &nbsp;instead &nbsp;of T1-11. &nbsp;It&apos;s painted green and brown to camouflage it to the area of the yard. where we placed it. &nbsp;Everyone who sees the Taj MaCoop loves it. &nbsp;Over all the cost ran a little over $1K. &nbsp; We have nine chickens which produce 7 to nine eggs daily. &nbsp;Mostly eight eggs. &nbsp;Having never raised chickens, I thought 5 nesting boxes would be too few. &nbsp;Ha! &nbsp;Most of the time all of the eggs will be in the most left-hand box. &nbsp;Or lately the two left &nbsp;boxes which interestingly enough is where the Third Coast Craftsman retrieved his egg. &nbsp;I let the chickens free run in the afternoon which is a good time to clean up the coop and run. &nbsp;The cleanup is very easy as advertised (Great idea). &nbsp;Collecting the droppings in the bucket is so convenient with no mess. &nbsp;Lastly, &nbsp;my chickens think nothing of flying over a 4 foot high fence. &nbsp;I had to install a 8 foot fence to keep them out of the garden. Thank you Third Coast Craftsman for an excellent design.

  Love this coop I got these plans 2 years ago and built it . Just a word for the wise. Put wire mesh up in the eaves of the roof. Learned my lesson. Raccoon got in thru the gap in the roof and killed all 8 of my chickens….

  I posted this on your other video: I am copy/pasting it here so both you and other people can see it regardless of which video they look at. &quot;on your door to the nesting boxes. You could put a small piece of chain on the sides and small hooks on the sides of the door, So if you want to use the door as a &quot;bench&quot; (work bench not sitting bench) instead of using your knee you just grab the chain and hook it to the door, one side both sides and now your door will sit &quot;workbench&quot; level and you are free to walk about. If you want to drop the door all the way down, you just unhook the chain(s) and let it hang down. Just make sure you use chains of a material that hold up to the outdoor elements so it doesn&apos;t rust on ya.&quot;

  The door sag support has been installed by you in the reverse order. It should be pointed away from your hinges and not towards them.

  My local tractor supply tosses pallets and free for taking. I also have an air conditioning company close to home, they have even bigger pallets. Be resourceful and not lazy. So far all I’ve bought were the chickens, the waterer &nbsp;and the mesh fencing.
