  Just to let you know..that PVC Hardware cloth deteriorates in the Sun and Becomes Brittle..Same with those Zip ties..We had to get Metal Hardware cloth and wire to replace the Zip ties...Also put the Hardware cloth over the top of the Cattle panel so it Doesn&apos;t sag.<br>We Built one of these 4 years ago . We use ours For Silkies .👍

  I use hog rings (from Tractor Supply) to hold the cattle panels together. &nbsp;You’ll need a bag of hog rings, and the little crimper that you need to squeeze them together. They work really well and they don’t die in the sun like zip ties do.

  For people building this in colder climate with heavy snow, you will have to add a couple of strong 4x4 or 6x6 vertical beams inside to prevent the snow from collapsing the coop.

  Pull the tarp back a couple of feet or more then secure it, so the birds can get some direct sunshine when they want to, otherwise they&apos;re forever in the shade.

  Weasels and rodents are also a danger to quail. You may have to sink a piece of 1/2 inch &nbsp;wire cloth in the ground around the bottom.

  Few mistakes that I noticed. <br><br>The reason people put wire down is because a lot of predators can dig under the frame. Most people assume foxes are the primary culprit, but you also need to worry about racoons, coyotes and rats, all of which are running around, even in cities. If you wanted the birds to have access to the ground, that&apos;s understandable, but it&apos;s also why people don&apos;t simply lay the wire down, they dig down on the sides of the run and bury the wire into the ground. This will prevent the animals from digging under the walls and allow the birds to have grass. A lot of people don&apos;t do that because they are lazy and simply don&apos;t want to dig a trench. <br><br>The other thing is, you put the hardware cloth on the wrong side, it should have gone on the outside so that it can&apos;t be pushed in by a heavier predator, such as a coyote or racoon. Especially since you only secured it with zip ties, which is also a mistake. Zip ties will deteriorate over time, much faster if in direct sunlight. It would have been better to use bailing wire or some form of metal fastener. <br><br>Lastly, you should fold back the plastic by about 1/3 in the summer/spring so that they have access to sunlight. <br><br><br>Also, a fun fact (not really fun), racoons are murderous assholes. They will kill your birds and leave their bodies just for the sake of killing them. We had a small flock of ducks in our yard and sometime around dusk, right before the ducks were heading in for the night, a raccoon got into the yard and killed 4 ducks and blinded one. He just went around biting their heads and leaving their bodies. I sort of hate raccoons now. <br><br>Side note: We&apos;ve kept ducks, chickens, and quail before, and out of those, quail were ok but super noisy and smelly, ducks were horrendous in their smell (could smell them from 100ft away) plus super noisy, and chickens are the all around best/easiest to keep.

  Predators dig. You need a 24&quot; wide metal hardware cloth rug all the way around the outside perimeter held down with landscape staples and attached to the wooden base...or your quail will be breakfast, lunch and dinner for coyotes, foxes, raccoons and other little beasts. &nbsp;It won&apos;t be a mobile coop anymore but it protects them.

  Hoop coop would be a great small garden greenhouse and or garden with the trap removed after poultry has fertilized the soil.

  I think this was a great build and great design. I was just a bit disappointed that you didn&apos;t put another door on the back end, in order for it to truly be a two-door coupe. 🦃🐔🐓🦆🦤😆

  Protect your investment by doing something about the ground. To keep animals from digging to<br> enter, use metal panels all around into the ground maybe 2&apos;.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMcr1FrSd04&amp;t=1175">19:35</a> HELPFUL TIP: for those plastic Banding Straps. The easiest way to take them off is to find where the ends are heat sealed together, flip it over, and simply pull on the little tab of extra strapping, it&apos;s peels off VERY easy and can be removed even by my 7 year old daughter with no tools or knives.
