Motorcycle etiquette starts with the bike itself and I'm giving one away to one of y'all. Check it out here https://www.fanathem.com/hegshot

Harley rider here who doesn't care as long as you're on 2 wheels. This day I was in my Jeep getting gas and a guy on a metric on the other side kept starting up and stalling out. I took a look over and saw what he was doing wrong. His buddies had all pulled off and left him there while he struggled. He was getting frustrated (and probably embarrassed), I got his attention and asked if it was a new bike? It was and he had only been riding for a couple weeks. I quietly pointed out his kickstand was still down, he looked down and looked even more embarrassed, I just shrugged and told him it happens and went back to filling up.

Something silly had happened like that to me when I first started riding and an "old timer" came over and quickly and without any judgment told me what I was doing wrong. I remembered that nonchalant attitude with no judgment and how much it meant.

I've been riding since I was 14 years old, I'm 70 now. I ride a Goldwing, I've done multi state road trips. I will never pass a rider up that appears to be broken down. Once stopped for guy on a old school chopper, (read 1%er). At first he said he didn't need help, when I started to leave he suddenly asked if i had a pair of channel locks on "that pig I was riding ". Well i did , now hes all buddy buddy. I helped him get back on the road. He had piss poor attitude because of my bike, but that changed when he found out I had the tool and knowledge he needed to get on the road. Before partng ways, he apologized for his attitude.

I can't imagine TOUCHING another motorcycle without the owner's permission. Never mind sitting on it!

My biggest fear is getting hit from behind and having someone take a left right in front of me.

I live in the deep South in a rural area we all wave to each other even in our pickup trucks

Yep I give the wave to anyone on a bike. We’re all out there dealing with crappy drivers and lousy weather. We are a community. Plus it feels good.

Please also turn off your stereo when participating in a funeral or Veterans Memorial type of event. I’ve seen bikers roll into a veteran cemetery with stereo blaring.

A guy in my home town when I was a kid, blew the front jug off his late 60's shovelhead.
Cracked at the case. My Dad, Who rode a Harley also, left me with the bike, took the guy home to get his truck and trailer. When the guy had it loaded up. He told me good job young man. And gave me 5 whole bucks. Year 1970.

The wave is not a wave. Its a prayer that the other rider gets home safe.

Its always been that.

I was 18 years old riding my Iron Head on a major highway when the rear tire blew out. Stranded (no cell phones yet a guy pulled over with a pickup. Several minutes later 2 huge BIKERS pulled up, told me to hold the bars strait. They picked the bike up and loaded it in the truck, nodded and left. Lesson learned!!! I’m 58 now and stop for any bike.
