Great lesson. I'm learning triads now and this seems like the most appropriate song to go along with that. Your lesson is clear and lays everything out easy to understand

"The magic isn't in impossible technique" until that thumb-and-index finger lick in the outro solo 😂

Subscribed. Triads seem like the best thing for visualizing the fretboard, learning intervals, playing fills, and soloing.

Yes…..Thanks once again. I’m a 63yr drummer whose shoulders are not as forgiving. I’m currently learning the electric guitar. I started with an acoustic & now finding myself taking to the electric.
Very slick, very slick indeed ✌🏼&❤️

Thanks for a great easy to watch video! this isnNumber one on my list of favorite songs. I love the fact that the chord progression is the same as Greensleeves and What child is this.

And I'm a 63 year old bass player (started at 57-pandemic....) and certainly what I consider one of the greatest rock solos on guitar. I was 15 when Sultans came out and can remember listening to it repeatedly on one of them no longer airlines like Braniff, National (Fly Me) or Continental. Still a song I can never turn off until I hear it through those solos.

Absolutely brilliant breakdown, at least I now know the method behind Mr Knopflers genius.
I guess the concept is simple when someone shows me 50 years later lol. Thanks Charlie brilliant as ever.

One of the best breakdowns of effective triads and how to approach using them I have seen on YouTube. There’s a lot here!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight.

I enjoy this lesson like good wine! I saw Dire Sraits in '78 in Rotterdam. We were eager to see if the solo's were as good as the record, they were better!!! I could never have believed in coming this far in playing and understanding. Thank you very much!!!
