  My favorite part of non-Americans reaction to football is &quot;Is that legal???? Can they do that???&quot;. I always think to myself that some are legal, some are illegal, but it doesn&apos;t matter. Those hits happen every game.

Rugby is a contact sport... American Football is a collision sport. <br>The pads and helmets just mean that the players are going to hit harder and at full speed.

  Now you know why when Americans see soccer players rolling around on the pitch, we look at them like pansy asses lol. Rugby = Contact sport, American Football = Collision sport. You are so right on many levels, American Football is literally war without deaths, those hits are the equivalent of 30 mph car crashes, and the helmets actually do work, the hits are that just hard.

  Most of the time they get right up &amp; continue to play, other times they leave the field for a play or two. It is rare they have to leave the game, but it does happen

  The JuJu hit on Burfict at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW1-uT24ySc&amp;t=893">14:53</a> is one of my favorite plays in NFL history. Burfict was an insanely dirty player. That hit was retaliation for the hit on Antonio Brown. It&apos;s objectively dirty, but well deserved

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW1-uT24ySc&amp;t=1094">18:14</a> I actually enjoy watching rugby as well, while the two sports’ origins are intertwined, the big difference that developed is while rugby (as you stated) became a “contact” sport, American football became a “collision” sport.

  That last clip with the big run up was a kick off in high school. With in the last couple years the NFL actually does a different setup for kickoffs to not allow for those kinds of big run ups.

  In Jr High, I was the smallest, lightest player on our team (4&apos;7&quot;, 85lbs) but I was also the fastest. I got to be a free safety and there&apos;s almost no better feeling than to lay someone out at full speed.
